'MPLA governance programme for the 2012/2017 period, regarding the oil industry, will enable a greater growth of the sector due to the goals outlined for the intensification of prospecting and exploration of crude oil, as well as bid of new oil concessions.'
This was said to Angop by Oil Minister, José Maria Botelho de Vasconcelos, at the end of the ceremony of public presentation of MPLA government programme for 2012/2017 period and its electoral manifesto, headed by its president, Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
According to him, the oil sector has been contributing to the economic and social development of the country and it is envisaged to grow more and more, according to the outlined programme, the increasing of refining capacity of crude oil in order to contribute to increase the offer of by-products in the region and world.
He said that it is also eyed the development of natural gas and petrochemical industry, to foment the supply chain of goods and services in the sector.
MPLA government programme also comprises as cornerstones, the consolidation of peace, democracy reinforcement, preservation of unity and national cohesion, guarantee of the basic assumptions necessary for the development and betterment of the Angolans' quality of life.
The programme establishes that the action centre of the government is the people, thus developing forms of interaction between MPLA Executive with all living forces of the nation, involving the organs of sovereignty, different churches, political parties, NGOs, as well as various civil society structures.
The ceremony was attended by hundreds of militants, friends and supporters of MPLA, members of the ruling party's women and youth wings (OMA), (JMPLA), diplomatic corps accredited in Angola, traditional authorities and religious entities.
