Cross River State Commissioner for Information, Akin Rickett, has denied reports that his state government met with the government of Akwa Ibom State secretly with a view to resolving issues surrounding the 76 oil wells amicably.
Speaking to our correspondent yesterday in Calabar, Chief Rickett
said, "It is not true that we are holding discussions discreetly with
Akwa Ibom State government over the 76 oil wells. However, there is
absolutely nothing wrong with our state using alternative routes to an
amicable resolution on the oil wells saga, or indeed any other matter."
