About 10 people were reported to have been killed after an explosion took place at a Mexican gas pipeline distribution center near Texas border at noon yesterday (Tuesday), the deadly explosion was reported have taken place at Petroleos Mexicanos, also known as PEMEX, a Mexico state owned oil company located in Reynosa, the number of people wounded have not been ascertained as of time this report came in but 10 people were reported to have been killed.
It was still not clear those who were killed as they have not been identified, but the company said its employees staffed the building, but it has not been ascertained whether those killed were employees and the cause of the explosion too have not been reported.
In a statement released by the Mexican federal officials, General Bravo Reynosa Highway 40, which is the major highway near the refinery had to be closed due to the incident, mean while the company said via twitter post that the fire that occurred had been extinguished as of Tuesday noon, noting that some pipes and valves at the facility were damaged.
