| Fuel queues in Benin City |
In virtually all petrol stations in every state of the country, motorists are now experiencing long and tiring queues.
The cause of these are of various reasons as given by NNPC, for instance the scarcity in Benin City originated from shutdown of the PPMC depot where the laboratory at which all petroleum products are tested for quality before being sold to the public, it was shut down by Edo State Board of Inland Revenue three weeks ago over a N35 million tax default.
While in Lagos it was triggered by the destruction of the NNPC's pipeline at Arepo, Ogun State, bunkers were said to have attacked the pipeline at Ibafo, Ogun State.
The repairs of the vandalized pipeline can however not start anytime soon as officials of NNPC were killed during the last attack, hence, NNPC want to ascertain that the area is fully secured before repairs can commence, as it does not want to risk lives of it officials anymore.
