With seven oil wells onstream, Nexen at their deepwater Usan field entered production earlier this year, however two more wells are expected to come online later this year, with production averaging 100,000 - 110,000 barrels per day of oil.
The company however spudded an exploration well at Owowo West earlier this month on Nigerian offshore block OPL-223, close to Owowo South B oil discovery.
Sources have it that the latest oil well should reach its target depth later this year.
